There are 2 shotgun blasts and 14 9mm rounds of ammunition fired in each show. All weapons and ammunition are specifically modified for safety purposes.

The firearm rule in countries outside the USA prevents Universal Studios Japan from using real blank ammo in the guns. Instead they use prop ones.

The T-70 robots at Universal Studios Florida shoot fire out of their guns, the ones at Universal Studios Hollywood shoot smoke. This is not because of any firearm rule, but more likely because of stricter building codes in California compared to Florida. Earthquakes are rather common in California and if they had fire effects in the building, the costs of retrofitting the building structure to allow this efftect would increase.
